Provence
Picturesque villages, colourful markets, fragrant lavender fields and vineyards; vineyards as far as the eye can see in eight districts, each with its own AOC appellation. Provence is that region of France worth visiting on a beautiful sunny day, something that is practically the norm here in every season, if only to stop just long enough to sip a glass of wine. Having chosen summer for our outing, we accompanied our tastings with the song of cicadas. And, by staying true to the road less travelled in selecting our wines, we found some real gems for the palate.
