VINIFICATION
In 1.45 hectares of vineyard, with 96 years of organic production. Vineyards planted in rock crevices, on the Criação Velha plate, 60 metres from the sea.
Fermentation is spontaneous and cold. The first pressing takes place in horizontal stainless-steel barrels, followed by fermentation for at least three years in aged French oak barrels. Sulphites are only added at the end of fermentation.
ON THE PALATE
To the eye, it is a citrusy yellow colour with straw-coloured highlights. The nose offers aromas of iodine, salt, linden and Surinam cherry. The palate has a dense, highly concentrated opening, with a vibrant, lingering acidity.
With salt, salt more salt and iodine, this is a wine that could only be born of the sea.
EVENTS IT MAKES MAGICAL
By the sea, on the terrace. Better still, on the shoreline, as waves roll in and lap at your feet and salt spray and good cheer are borne in on the breeze. Or at home, whenever you feel like dreaming.
