Joana Maçanita and her brother Antonio embarked on their Maçanita Vinhos project in 2011. An ambitious and eclectic enterprise, very much akin to their own personalities, yet so deeply interconnected that they have succeeded in harmoniously combining a profound respect for nature with a scrupulously scientific methodology. The wines they produce all tell their own story and convey the intense and authentic flavours of the Douro Valley with each and every sip.
